Isaiah 43:10-13 NASB
10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me there was no God formed, and there will be none after me.11 “I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no savior besides me.12 “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, and there was no strange god among you; so you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God.13 “Even from eternity I am He, and there is none who can deliver out of my hand; I act and who can reverse it?”
I like it when God the Father makes bold statements about Himself. You notice in Isaiah 43:11, He says “I even I am the Lord, apart from me there is no Savior. He boasts when He says I have revealed, I have saved and proclaimed.” If you’ve experienced the Lord Jesus, there is far more to do about what He has said and who He is then what you have done. “I am not a foreign God.” The Lord acknowledges that there may be imposters who want to take credit for His glorious acts but He is the only one who has done the saving. He goes on to say in verse 13 – “No one can deliver you out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
Why am I telling you all of this…I’ve been perplexed about our country lately and the options we have with regards to presidential candidates. Listening to the bad news about the economy, denying the existence of God and trying to abolish any hint of Christianity in our secular world today sometimes leaves me shaken, but then I remember how big God is. Only He can save us. He uses people. He is using us. He wants to use you. Have you spoken a kind word to a child this week? Have you given a cup of cold water to a weary traveler? Have you shared of your treasures liberally and joyously? Lastly, have you spent time alone with God? Our only hope is in Jesus. Pray for us here at Youth Horizons. We know that Jesus is the answer.
