Earnest Alexander, President

Earnest is the key visionary of Youth Horizons and the primary spokesperson for the organization. He is a world-class vocalist who performs locally, across the country and abroad as he advocates for the needs of today’s youth. Earnest holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in church music with an emphasis in applied voice from Friends University.

Rodney Bartlett, Mentoring Director

Rodney worked as a house parent at the Martin House in 1997 and is excited to be part of the team at Youth Horizons again. This time around Rodney is working with the mentoring team recruiting new mentors and coaching existing mentoring matches. Before working at Youth Horizons, Rodney made his home in Vancouver, BC, helping with a church plant and starting an internet marketing business.

Paul Comegys, Residential Director

Paul Comegys has worked with kids in some manner for over 20 years. “God put kids on my heart many years ago. Since then He has provided many different opportunities to work with them.” Paul started with Youth Horizons as an employee in mid-November 2007, although he has been around the ministry since its inception. “It has been a vision of my heart to see young people grow into successful and godly young adults.”

Stacie James, Mentoring Coach

Stacie joined the staff at Youth Horizons in February of 2011 as a mentor coach and intake specialist. She graduated with her Bachelors of Social Work from Wichita State University in May 2010 and obtained her social work license shortly thereafter. Her previous experience includes mental health case management, residential direct care staff for girls and boys, foster care, Christian camp counseling and mentoring for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She was called to work with at-risk youth at the age of 15 and has spent the past 10 years pursuing that calling through ministry at her church, schooling, and job experience.

Chris Fox, Mentoring Coach

Chris Fox, originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, recently returned to the US after spending two years training young professionals in leadership in Moscow, Russia. Plans to pursue seminary training brought him to Wichita. Chris started with Youth Horizons in February 2011 as a mentoring coach. Because Chris has personally benefited from having a Christian mentor, he is excited to be part of providing that same opportunity to kids here in Wichita.

Dareld Karber, Ranch Manager

Dareld was raised in a Christian home where prayer, Bible reading, service and obedience were emphasized. He graduated in 1968 with a BA from Tabor College, majoring in pre-med. He’s been married to Deborah for 41 years; they have four grown sons. For a few years, Dareld and Debbie served as a resident couple in a 12-member children’s home in Akron, Ohio. Dareld has ranched for 28 years in southwest Kansas and has served on the Farm Bureau board of directors, SW Kansas Irrigation Association board, Tabor College board, and church councils. He came on staff as the ranch manager with Youth Horizons in Fall 2008.
