KPBR Expansion Update
Nearly two years of fundraising came to an end this September with the successful completion of the Kinloch Price Boys Ranch Expansion project. This project doubles the capacity of the program, and will allow us to serve 32 boys.
Hudson Taylor said, “God’s work, done God’s way, will never lack God’s supply.” And we have seen and live the truth of that belief.
In October 2014, we were issued a challenge grant from the Mabee Foundation of Oklahoma. We were given until October 2015 to successfully raise $1,749,254 of our nearly $2 million total construction and expansion costs. With God’s abundant provision and your sacrificial generosity, we met that goal before the requested deadline.
We are encouraged by the Mabee Foundation’s dedication to Christian organizations and their partnership in helping make this work possible.
Mr. Raymond Tullius, Vice Chairman of the Mabee Foundation, offered his appreciation for the services we provide to youth with such great need.
“Expansion of the Boys Ranch residential facilities will enable Youth Horizons of double the number of at-risk boys who benefit from the available programs,” he says. “The Mabee Foundation is pleased to be able to assist with these efforts.”
Construction is nearly completed on one of the houses at the ranch, and will be finished soon on the final house. We are already praying for the boys who will soon call this place home.
This is a landmark moment. But like all good landmarks, it serves to show us where we are in relation to the landscape.
There is much work yet to be done. We continue to raise money to fulfill our general operating budget, and there are two 15-passenger vans we will need to purchase for the new homes. Please continue to pray with us and for us.
