Goal Setting: The Path to Success
Each year we encourage our mentoring matches to set academic life-skill, and spiritual/service goals for themselves. Each child will handpick goals they want to accomplish by the end of the school year and we will reward them for completing up to three (one in each category) in May.
To supplement each goal, proteges get a worksheet that walks them through the process of setting up their goals, working on it, and then reflecting on what they accomplished.
We believe on of the most important things you can do for a child is to teach them the importance of setting and meeting personal goals in their life. Our hope is that this will set them up for a long-term success in life-goals such as graduating from high school, going to college, finding a career, and more.
If you have a skill-set that you would love to teach a match, or a business you would like to offer a tour of, please contact us at the Youth Horizons office! 316-262-8293.
