Making Matches Amid The Pandemic

Mentoring during a pandemic has its challenges and we are learning how to adapt. That hasn’t stopped people from wanting to get involved with Youth Horizons and make a difference. One example has been the three new matches Youth Horizons helped facilitate through the generosity of Pathway churches. The matches are further proof that God is blessing the YH ministry even through an historic pandemic.

In November, YH staff was present at the three Pathway campuses that included seven services in total. At each table, we were able to talk to members of the congregation and invite them to our monthly Mentor and Advocate Training (MAT) orientation. Despite managing Covid-19 public health guidelines, we had a record number of MAT attendees at our downtown office. Several Pathway members applied to become mentors, and we are starting to see the fruits from November. Over the last month, we have had the opportunity to match three youth on our Waiting List with mentors. These three mentors all attend Pathway Church. Thank you, Pathway! Please join us in prayer as these proteges begin to build a friendship with their mentors.
