Calling for More Mentors
Waiting List Youth
Youth Horizons is always seeking adult Christian Mentors for youth in our programs. You or your church can help us meet a need for more Mentors. Currently, there are over 30 youth on the Waiting List and additional youth are referred regularly. Also, we have a need for Mentors in our residential services program, including at Kinloch Price Boys Ranch. Please keep in mind that we only seek Mentors from our network of 50 or more church partners. Currently our Mentors come from about 40 of those churches. You can mentor a youth one-to-one in the community or in a school setting as a “Lunch Buddy.” Please consider attending our next Mentor and Advocate Training Orientation (MATO) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 at our downtown office, 125 S. Washington, Suite 200. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about mentoring and the Youth Horizons ministry, plus dinner is served!
If you can’t attend a MATO session, our Mentor Coaches can come to you by visiting your church. Our staff presents to local churches including small groups. The presentations offer Mentor training, promote awareness around the needs of youth and aim to recruit Mentors for Waiting List boys and girls. This month, Youth Horizons is looking forward to meeting with more churches and partnering with them. We can only do this ministry work with partners. We need your help to do God’s will in the lives of youth and their families. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor, scheduling a church presentation or attending MATO, please contact Mentoring Team Lead, Carrie Crow at (316) 262 – 8293 ext. 215 or carrie@youthhorizons.net.
