Dear Friends,

When I look back on this past year at Youth Horizons, one word comes to mind: gratitude.

I have the privilege of seeing this ministry from a unique vantage point, and I continue to be humbled by what God does through the generosity, faithfulness, and compassion of this community.

This was a year that stretched us, encouraged us, and reminded us what is possible when people come together around a shared mission.

Our Christmas Gala set a new fundraising record for Youth Horizons, a powerful reminder of how deeply this community believes in the lives of young people and families across Wichita.

Our mentoring team matched 40 mentors with protégés this year. That means 40 more young people gained the encouragement, consistency, and Christ-centered support of a trusted adult willing to show up in their lives.

One of our most meaningful milestones in 2025 was the inaugural year of supporting parents through our Getting Ahead program.

This initiative helps parents strengthen social-emotional skills, build financial stability, and take practical steps toward a healthier future for their families. What makes this work especially meaningful is that the journey does not end there.

Through Staying Ahead, parents continue receiving encouragement and accountability through relationships with Navigators – mentors who walk alongside them in everyday life.

In our residential programs, we continued strengthening the care we provide for some of the most vulnerable youth in foster care. Healing does not happen in chaos.

It takes safety, consistency, and extraordinary people willing to show up every single day with patience, professionalism, and compassion.

At the same time, we are being called to respond to new needs in our community.

As more teenagers and young adults emerge from foster care without stable housing or support, the need for transitional and independent living opportunities has become increasingly clear.

What began as a vision is becoming a reality, fueled by extraordinary generosity, including donor property gifts that are helping open entirely new doors for Youth Horizons.

I continue to be amazed by the good in the Wichita community. Whether through mentorship, volunteering, prayer, advocacy, or financial support, your generosity creates lasting change.

I ask that you continue walking with us. Share the story of what God is doing through Youth Horizons. Give your time, talent, and resources as you feel led.

Because the health of our community tomorrow depends on the hope we give our youth today.
