Calling all graphic design and digital artists!
It’s your chance to win $1,000 and have your artwork displayed before thousands of people as the graphic design for the 31st annual Youth Horizons Easter Sun Run!

Since the Youth Horizons Annual Easter Sun Run is a popular family-friendly event that draws a large crowd from the Wichita area, we’ve decided it’s only fitting that a community artist should create the design embodying the seasonal celebration.
The chosen artwork will be used in promotional marketing materials for the Sun Run, including posters and social media graphics, and as the design for the run t-shirts. We’re searching for a graphic that reflects the event’s exciting, energetic atmosphere, encompassing the movement of the run along with the joyful spirit of the family activities.
Contest Guidelines
- Design entries should be vector artwork and adapt to a variety of presentations including posters, online banners, and t-shirts.
- Deadline for entry submission: Wed., Jan. 29, 2025
- Youth Horizons employees are not eligible.
- Entrants must be fourteen (14) years of age or older.
- Entrants must live in the Wichita metropolitan area.
- Youth Horizons retains sole reproduction and publication right, title and interest relative to the winning design.
- All artwork must be submitted in computer-formatted vector graphics. Present artwork in CMYK & RGB formats.
- Each entry should be submitted with a completed entry form. A fillable PDF entry form is included in the design contest files.
- Designs can be submitted on a flash drive or sent electronically with a link to an online storage folder. Flash drives can be mailed or delivered to our downtown office:

Design Guidelines
- To be considered, all entries must include separate designs for: 11”x17” poster, 500×120 px online banner, and 9″x9″ horizontal t-shirt graphic with a transparent background.
- For t-shirts: Designs must be limited to the use of five brand colors and have a transparent background.
- For posters and banners: Designs must use brand colors but aren’t limited to the number of colors.
- Designs should conform to our brand guidelines and incorporate the Easter Sun Run logo. The run logo can be used in full color, white or black.
- Artists should keep in mind that the event is family-friendly, and Youth Horizons is a faith-based nonprofit organization that supports youth in need.
- While the event is held during Easter weekend, artists should refrain from including Easter-related graphics.
- We will accept artwork that may include partial AI design, but not 100% AI-generated designs.
Other things to keep in mind
A panel of professionals from the Wichita-area design community will judge entries and pick a winner.
We’re searching for a graphic that reflects the event’s exciting, energetic atmosphere, encompassing the movement of the run along with the joyful spirit of the family activities.
Abstract designs are welcome.
Designs must be the artist’s original artwork and should not be related in any way to an existing piece of art or logo.
The artist agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Youth Horizons from and against any damages or losses sustained and as a result of any design which is not original.
Youth Horizons reserves the right to modify the winning artwork for merchandising and marketing purposes as needed.
The winning design becomes the sole property of Youth Horizons. Youth Horizons will make available the original design to the artist within one year of the date the selected design is announced.
The winning artist will be notified in early February.
About the Easter Sun Run
The Easter Sun Run is one of the premier 10K and 2-mile run/walk events in the Midwest. It’s also a major fundraiser for Youth Horizons.
