New Board Member – Damon Young
by · Aug 26, 2025
Youth Horizons is honored to welcome Damon Young, CEO of Lead Wichita, to our Board of Directors.
Damon is on a mission to ignite and sustain transformation by connecting divergent ideas into unifying vision. As the first CEO of Lead Wichita, he is building a more empowered and connected city while also launching a boutique consultancy focused on vision casting, executive mentoring, and public speaking.
With more than 30 years invested in Wichita, Damon’s background spans ministry, commercial construction, and nonprofit leadership. Before stepping into his current role in March 2025, he served as Chief Business Officer at the Kansas Leadership Center.
His leadership extends beyond his professional career. As board chair of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2022, Damon championed civic trust and meaningful dialogue across the city. He also serves as Executive in Residence at Friends University Business School, mentoring future leaders at his alma mater.
Outside of the boardroom, Damon is a devoted husband and father of five, as well as a poet, podcast enthusiast, and former All-American collegiate debater who still enjoys a lively discussion – especially if it involves basketball or Star Wars.
Damon’s belief in the power of faith and curiosity to inspire and empower people makes him a powerful addition to the Youth Horizons Board. We are thrilled to have him join us in shaping brighter futures for the youth and families we serve.
