Strength in Service: F3 Wichita Men Invest in Youth Horizons

F3 landscape volunteer day

It may look like any other landscaping crew, but what happened at Kinloch Price Boys Ranch this summer was much more. A group of men from F3 Wichita, a Christian fellowship focused on faith, fitness, and fellowship, dedicated their day to pouring strength and sweat equity into the ranch grounds.

F3 Wichita volunteers

F3 Wichita already has a rhythm of showing up for the boys. They regularly volunteer by leading workouts and training sessions at KPBR, modeling resilience and discipline while encouraging the youth to develop healthy habits. They also show up as a team to run in our annual Easter Sun Run fundraiser. This time, their work looked different: shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows replaced push-ups, pull-ups, and running. Together, they tackled landscaping needs across the property – an ongoing challenge on acres of land where grass and brush (and weeds) never stop growing.

Why does this matter? Because for the boys at KPBR, every act of service sends a message:

You are worth showing up for.

Statistics remind us that nearly 80% of foster youth face mental health challenges. Stability, safety, and supportive relationships are vital to their healing and growth. What might look like just another work crew is in fact men of faith standing shoulder to shoulder, serving kids who carry more than their share.

At Youth Horizons, we are grateful for the example these men set – not just in fitness and physical resiliency, but in compassion and consistency. Their willingness to give time, sweat, and encouragement leaves a lasting mark on both the land and the lives of the boys during their time with us.
