Two Young Men, Two Big Steps Forward

At Youth Horizons, we celebrate each milestone that helps a young person move toward independence and hope. It was a good end to the summer! Recently, two of our boys – Mr. I and Mr. E – made big steps forward.

Mr. I came to Youth Horizons in the spring with two big goals: finish high school and grow in maturity. With the support of our staff, he achieved both. Isaiah graduated, and we watched him develop into a more responsible and thoughtful young man. He is now stepping into a Transitional Living Program, where he will take the next steps toward adulthood and independence. That’s BIG!

Mr. E’s journey has been one of perseverance and progress. He came to us from detention not long ago and worked hard to meet his behavior goals. His commitment to growth made him a great candidate to “level down” to a less restrictive foster placement — and even better, this new home is closer to his family. Stronger family connections mean a stronger support network for his future.

Both Mr. I and Mr. E remind us why we do what we do — walking alongside youth as they grow, heal, and prepare for life beyond our care. Please join us in celebrating these young men and praying for them as they take these next steps.
