How You Can Volunteer

mentoring at youth horizons

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community, learn new skills, and help others in need.

Volunteers are also important to our mission of providing mentoring and residential care. We are always looking for people who want to make a difference in the lives of young people. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please visit fill out our Volunteer Interest Form that corresponds to your area of interest, or you can contact us by phone (316) 262-8293 or email communications@youthhorizons.net for more information.

Some examples of ways to volunteer:

Become a mentor.

Individuals can mentor young people in community, school, or residential-based mentoring. We ask for a minimum one-year commitment.

Adopt a house.

Groups or individuals can “adopt” a house at Kinloch Price Boys Ranch or Wren House for girls or support ministry staff. Volunteers might commit to praying for staff and the youth they are serving or decide to serve in person by spending time in the house, planning activities, helping with landscaping around the house and/or encouraging house staff.

Be a business partner.

Business owners can partner with Youth Horizons to provide employment opportunities in which youth are able to build job skills, gain work experience and build relationships with people of faith. They can also sponsor events that Youth Horizons hosts for fundraising efforts and/or activities for our youth.

Volunteer at an event.

Youth Horizons offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Easter Sun Run, summer activities, Fall Festival, or the Christmas Carnival. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.
